nothing affects you

“This consciousness is extinguishing, knowingness is disappearing, but nothing affects you, the Absolute – that is the moment of death, but what matters? The vital breath is leaving the body, the “I Amness” receding, but the “I Amness” is going to the Absolute.”

My Comment: Words can have various functions. Sometimes they are like life-jackets that we can slip into and help keep us afloat in the high seas of confusion. They can also be building blocks with which we can construct complex thought structures. Some words take us for a wild ride, one leading to the next and the next and the next, higher and higher, like the mind flying a kite. Of course we all know how words can be used as weapons to hurt, or as medicine to heal and soothe. Continue reading

the incredible Hulk and spirituality

The thought of God, of that which is beyond, is the activity of the mind that awakens the desire to know what I really am.

That desire is akin to a surge of energy felt within that can spark the leap beyond the mind. The desire to know what I really am means the visceral urge to BE THAT, and has nothing to do with the intellect. It is an inner dynamic similar to the transformation of the Marvel Comics character Bruce Banner into the comic book hero Hulk. The angrier Hulk gets, the stronger he gets, and his capacity for physical strength is potentially limitless due to the fact that the Hulk’s strength increases proportionally with his level of great emotional stress. The dynamic of emotional charge bringing our thoughts into manifestation is illustrated by the figure Hulk – it is a valid understanding of the ‘mechanics’ of manifestation. In difference to Hulk, the emotional charge of one with this urge to BE the undying SELF has a limitless potential for deeper and deeper inner connection with our true primordial nature – what we are prior to the projection of the phenomenal world by the mind. It’s now up to us to use that understanding to create a New Earth of Love, Understanding, Compassion, Forgiveness and Service to Others. Continue reading

do not lose yourself

“If you do not lose yourself, then even though you have difficulty, there is actually no problem whatsoever. You just sit in the midst of the problem; when you are a part of the problem, or when the problem is a part of you, there is no problem, because you are the problem itself. The problem is you yourself. If this is so, there is no problem.

“When your life is always a part of your surroundings—in other words, when you are called back to yourself, in the present moment—then there is no problem. When you start to wander about in some delusion which is something apart from you yourself, then your surroundings are not real anymore, and your mind is not real anymore. If you yourself are deluded, then your surroundings are also a misty, foggy delusion. Once you are in the midst of delusion, there is no end to delusion. You will be involved in deluded ideas one after another. Most people live in delusion, involved in their problem, trying to solve their problem. But just to live is actually to live in problems. And to solve the problem is to be a part of it, to be one with it.”

Before we open our eyes

We are always an expression of big existence. Why do we feel so small, insignificant and fragmented sometimes? Simply because we believe that we must do something special in order to be significant. According to this belief, which seems to be the basic belief of humanity as a whole on our planet, just breathing and being conscious is not enough. As the Zen master Shunryu Suzuki says, “Before we open our mouth, we are already expressing big existence.” Before we open our eyes, we are already the big mind. Continue reading

only by firm conviction ~ V – Nisargadatta

Nisargadatta: Immortality is beyond time and space; in that timeless, spaceless existence there is no entry for the five elements, for light or darkness, for the sun or the moon. Timeless, spaceless existence doesn’t know that it is. That is reality, That is the truth.

In any amount of meditation, etc., you do not remain in your real state; it is only by firm conviction that you are the highest that you stabilize in the Ultimate. Continue reading
