Questioner: But hatha yoga is so much spoken of as an aid.
Ramana’s Answer: Yes. Even great pandits well versed in the vedanta continue the practice of it. Otherwise their minds will not subside. So you may say it is useful for those who cannot otherwise still the mind. Continue reading →
“Don’t forget about your Mama Gaia tomorrow.
Mother earth, the Super-ancient-great grandmother: who adopted and nurtured all of your ancestors, as droplets from the stars.
Dance with your little feet on her immense body, become one with her, sing through the networks of her children, one in gratitude.
She carries us to the rhythm of her steps through the galaxy. And in each season, she tells us stories of endurance, ever inspiring hope, rationless perseverance… and smiles at us, kisses us with blooms, the teeth of petals that nuzzle our awareness. Continue reading →
In this post I will share some of the main components that are important to me for maintaining a harmonious spiritual lifestyle. Such a lifestyle is the act of living in the awareness that life is a mystery and that some aspects of my existence are visible and physical and others are invisible and non-physical. I experience this harmony when specific aspects of my life are balanced, which means that I am giving them sufficient attention. These are not cut-and-dried separate components; rather they all intertwine and spiral together in my energy field. Ideally, they complement and potentiate each other. Of course, this is my view based on my own experience. You will want to adapt the concepts used and the suggestions made in this article to your own perspective. In a nutshell, when living a harmonious spiritual lifestyle, my psychosomatic organism (my operating system) functions smoothly, like a clean machine. The entails removing any sludge and residue from the engine, so be sure to keep letting go of old mental, emotional and physical stuff that doesn’t serve anymore. What I then choose to do using this smoothly operating system is another topic.
Today I want to showcase this wonderful woman. Her TED Talk is deeply insightful and will provide food for contemplation on topics that many of us are pondering in our own lives. Thandie Newton is also a STRONG VOICE FOR WOMEN and very active in the campaign ONE BILLION RISING to stop abuse against women all over the world. Please see the related articles at the bottom for more on her activities as a voice for women.
“Swinging from Hollywood blockbusters to sensitive indie films, Thandie Newton brings thoughtfulness and delicate beauty to her work.” TED.com
Why you should listen to her:
Filmgoers first encountered Thandie Newton in the 1991 film Flirting, a tender and skin-crawlingly honest film about young love and budding identity. In her career since then, she’s brought that same intimate touch even to big Hollywood films (she was the moral center of Mission: Impossible II, for instance, and the quiet heart of the head-banging 2012), while maintaining a strong sideline in art films, like the acclaimed Crash and last year’s adaptation of Ntozake Shange’s For colored girls … Continue reading →
I present to you the work of one man in South Central Los Angeles that has changed the world and who through his work is creating peace in his own backyard. His name is Ron Finley and his self-chosen title is A Guerilla Gardener. What he has done with his passion is to infuse his neighborhood and the people living there with the indomitable spirit of independence and freedom and living together in peace. His spirit has caught hold and now has a life of its own, stewarded by him and reaching out more and more, growing and thriving.
At first glance these two topics and videos did not seem to be related. I was set to post them separately until I realized that community, as well as high quality fruits and vegetables have been of primary importance to me throughout this entire lifetime. But how does this relate to embracing and embodying the 5th Dimension?
