The Internal Factor – God is Love

Indra's web

The internal factor has absolute primacy. The statement “You alone are” implies that all originates from me. All that is are my offspring. This “you” or “me” is not any form or even energy, but rather That by which I know that I am. Can I give it a name, a word? Yes, I can, but It encompasses all and so names and forms stem from It – all are derived from It. Therefore it can never be known as an object, It can only be “known” by being It as the eternal, ever-present and all-knowing, infinite Subject without object: the One that Is. Continue reading

strong and gentle

::

I am experiencing a new cycle on the spiral of my individual inner development. This cycle is showing up as an increased and acute sense of fragility and vulnerability on the emotional level. I am approaching pain and suffering that is focused in my neurology on some deeper level than I have accessed to date. When I touch in to this energy I recognize physical and emotional abuse from my own childhood as well as physical, emotional and mental abuse that Humanity has experienced and is still at this very moment experiencing.

This pain and suffering is an energy that is, of course, simply energy in its basic form and therefore, once I touch into it, it can move again into another frequency. It has been caught up in its present vibrational frequency as pain and suffering simply because my energy field (my body-mind structure) at some point, as a child, felt it had to lock down these sensations and experiences. I, at that point, made the decision to put this energy into a strong container and there it remained until I felt strong enough to open the container and allow that energy to move again into another frequency.

Over the decades, since I first realized that I cannot be harmed by these old energies, I have opened that container and released much of the old pain and suffering. Now, once again, I am opening myself up to embracing these fragments of myself into the one Heart that heals all and purifies all of my energy from such residual impressions and sensations. This is a process of accepting that I am strong enough to look at and feel deeply the pain that has been locked away in me. I realize that there is nothing to fear anymore and that I am an integral part of this great Benevolence that we call Life. I realize that the supreme dimension that I am asked to enter into is the dimension of the creator energy and that that creator energy is Love itself.

All I am asked to do is to train and practice tuning into the Love force that is in me and to first of all direct this Love force to soothe my own pain and suffering. Then I am able to treat my own body and my own feelings with respect, tenderness and caring, giving them the nourishing benefit of the Love and Compassion energy from within me. Only then am I able to treat other with this Love, Respect and Compassion. The strength I then have allows me to be gentle in all my thoughts, words and actions.

Compassion as a Liberating Factor: Thich Nhat Hanh

Be Free Where You Are

This book is the transcript of some talks that Thay gave to inmates of a prison in the USA.

I feel that this short chapter so very graphically illustrates how our state of consciousness dramatically changes our behavior, changes the world around us and determines what action we take. Continue reading

the diamond

diamond

Obviously all that I perceive is seamless and free of any divisions. One form flows into the next and all are interwoven in the exchange of the elements and energies. What I see is a diamond-like solid space that allows for movement within the ocean of its expanse. I can focus on the limpid openness of this living space that holds itself absolutely immobile and stable. In this way it provides the ‘platform’ for all movements.

When I focus on the movements in the space, I perceive how all things are held by the invisible Self which is Love. It allows for all dynamics to play themselves out and experience their fullness before returning to the substratum from which they came. They (and I) are like waves calming on a still day and the surface once again becomes like a mirror, reflecting only Itself in the myriad facets.

THICH NHAT HANH:

“If we’re a free person, we aren’t conditioned by things around us. We just smile to them and we make our path. Our surroundings are like a mirror. If we smile, the mirror smiles. If we cry, the mirror cries. If we’re angry, then the situation becomes angry. But even if the situation looks angry, if we’re able to smile, then the situations smile with us. So the surroundings are coming from our mind.

“Master Linji taught,

‘When mind arises, the objects of mind arise. When the mind does not arise, the objects of mind do not arise. When thought does not arise, all the phenomena that are cannot harm us.

‘As far as the mundane world and the supramundane world are concerned, there is no Buddha and no Dharma. They do not really exist in this moment and they will not cease to exist in the future. Whatever you talk of as really existing is just words, chapters, and phrases. All they are able to do is guide infants. Skillful means are devised as medicines to heal sickness. The display of words and phrases is part of these skillful means. It is you who are present here in this moment with your living perception of sight and hearing clear as a torch flame illuminating all around – you are the one who displays all the words and phrases.’

Mystry of the Universe

MYSTERY OF THE UNIVERSE Rassouli

Sometimes when I awaken in this wilderness of silence beneath the moon visions of the elegance of creation dance me into a heightened awareness of the phenomenal variation of life

Blessed to see and behold unending moments of wonder here on earth the blinding radiance of it all breaks free in the gaze of love

Suddenly am free falling into deep dimensions of timelessness a matrix of mystic seeds in a womb filled with silent music waiting to be born stirring with a longing desire to create a form

Playing with words letting them tumble into being sometimes claiming a place by finding a space on the pristine wilderness of a blank page an untouched field of light inviting love’s expression a composition that arranges itself in a flowing revelation of new life

Life is seeking union with love to reveal itself through the precious spirit hidden within us

We are designed to receive the Beloved who is forever forming us to become the light that reveals the glory and grace of love

Let’s go see that group that’s over there.”

In the distance about fifty people were sitting in a circle on the meadow. At first glance, they appeared to shine, like those who were flying. Sitting with their legs crossed and their backs straight, they were meditating or praying.

“What are they doing?” Continue reading

The Buddha’s face

baby buddha sleeping

The Buddha is the face of Love. Each of us has this face and it is often spoken of by the many masters who have lived in the past and into the present. They call it “your face before you were born.” It can help to close your eyes, relax your body and feel your breath deeply. Then ask yourself: “What is my face before I was born?” Then you can “see” the face of Love, your original face, the Buddha face. This face takes in all it sees with the power of Love. It accepts and embraces every aspect of life that it encounters. There is no greater service to Humanity and to our Planet than to embody the face of Love and be Buddha.

smile

Recently, one friend asked me, “How can I force myself to smile when I am filled with sorrow? It isn’t natural.” I told her she must be able to smile to her sorrow, because we are more than our sorrow. A human being is like a television set with millions of channels. If we turn the Buddha on, we are the Buddha. If we turn sorrow on then we are sorrow. If we turn a smile on, we really are the smile. We can not let just one channel dominate us… ~ Thich Nhat Hanh
