mindful speaking: Thay

  1. A beautiful quote, Tomas. I find there is so much depth to this one, for it is not just our words, but the ability to speak with the entirety of our being that makes this possible, and that is not easy. I’m not sure I’ve ever fully done it… To make the whole of our being vulnerable enough to wholeheartedly embrace another without hesitation or resistance of any kind. It is a practice that always reveals to me my residual misgivings, my unrelinquished fears and boundaries… But one can sense the depth and power of this practice even so… At some level, perhaps it is the effort we make that others can sense as well… our effort to overcome our own littleness to forge authentic connection. As I write, I am reminded once again of how important we are to one another, how important it is on the receiving end of this practice to ensure the bridge is built through our own compassion and willingness to meet everyone half way…

    • Thank you, Michael! Your comment greatly enriches this post! This realization of the exchange of energy and support that we can be for each other is something that Alia and I have realized to a much deeper degree in Morocco. We have learned so much from the sincerity and heart-felt passion that almost all personal interactions there are charged with. I believe that is one of the strongest attractions that our life in Morocco holds for me.
